These are different products
TubeBuddy sells a workflow: keyword research, tag suggestions, bulk edits, publishing schedules, competitor tracking. Its Auto Translator sits inside that suite and appears on the Legend plan, marked as limited on the pricing table.
YouClicker sells one job. There is no keyword tool, no thumbnail generator and no A/B testing — and there is no reason to buy it unless you want your videos findable in other languages.

One line in that table needs explaining. TubeBuddy translates tags and we do not — not because it is harder, but because YouTube stores a single set of tags per video with no language versions. There is nowhere to put a translated tag.
When TubeBuddy is the right answer
If you want one subscription that covers channel management end to end, and translation is a nice-to-have inside it, TubeBuddy is a reasonable buy — especially at $3.99 for the entry plan. Nobody needs two subscriptions to run a channel.
When it is not
- You need subtitles. TubeBuddy does not write translated subtitle tracks; that is half the localization job missing.
- You need more than 40 languages. The gap to 170+ is not marginal: it is the difference between the big markets and the long tail.
- You translate in bursts. A back catalogue is one push of work, and paying $25.20 every month afterwards for a feature you used once is how subscriptions quietly get expensive.
- You work without a browser. An extension needs the tab open; a desktop app does not, and a phone app has no tab at all.
The honest summary
TubeBuddy is a bigger product. YouClicker is a better translator. If localization is a line item in a broader plan, TubeBuddy covers it; if localization is the plan, the 40-language ceiling and the missing subtitles will show up quickly.

- Not as of the check on 25 August 2026. Its translation features cover titles, descriptions and tags; subtitle tracks are not part of them.
- Can I use both?
- Yes, and it is a sensible combination: TubeBuddy for channel management, YouClicker for the languages. They write to different things and do not conflict.
- Why does YouClicker not translate tags?
- YouTube keeps one set of tags per video and provides no language versions for them. No tool can publish a translated tag, because there is no field to publish it into.
- Is 40 languages not enough?
- It covers the major markets. The remaining 130 are where competition is thin and where a video with a translated title can surface without fighting anyone — which is usually the point of localizing in the first place.
